Stress less and feel better! There’s both positive and negative stress. Positive stress gives us strength and energy and enables us to manage even difficult tasks. We experience negative stress when it feels like we can’t direct our situation and it can give diffuse indications such as headache, sleeplessness, stomach trouble and muscular pain. Are you suffering from negative stress? Take it easy, you can change your pattern of behavior if you want to. Here are some examples:
Take your body signals seriously. There’s almost always a reason to why you don’t feel well. Always take, for example, headache seriously.
Find balance in life. Attempt to find a balance between family, work and leisure time. Set reasonable goals. Acknowledge your limitations and lower your demands on yourself. You don’t need to be first-class in everything you do. Above all, don’t compare to others. Learn how to say “no”. Let people know when the requirements get to high. Prioritize sleep. Much of the body’s recovery takes place when we sleep. Exercise regularly, preferably half an hour every day. It doesn’t need to be fierce; a quick walk will do the trick. Straighten things out and seek support. Say what you feel; it’s better to tell your honest opinion than to bear the anger within yourself. Write lists. Write down everything you need to do. It will be easier to get an overview of what needs to be done, reduce the chance of forgetting something and reduce the risk of negative stress. - 'I have changed this sentence completely' Take breaks. Don’t forget to take a break at work, vital in order for you to recover and be effective. Learn relaxation techniques. What makes you relax? Meditation, yoga, music, walks or something completely different? Try to find something to latch on to when you feel stressed.
